Croatia Grants More Rights for Foreign Workers

Due to a decision to change some of the regulations governing people who participate in Croatia's labour market, foreign workers will soon have additional rights in the nation.

The Croatian government decided to offer additional security by compensating foreigners who might become unemployed in an effort to make Croatia more appealing to foreigners looking for work.

As stated by the authorities, they are developing a regulation that will enable foreign nationals to receive benefits in the event that their employment contract is terminated for a total of sixty days. The international employees will have 60 days to hunt for alternative employment prospects in Croatia.

Croatia wants to make sure that foreigners stay in the nation because there are shortages in a number of areas right now.

Ivan Vidriš, the State Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, and Social Policy, commented on the action, saying that it will assist the nation in stopping the mistreatment of foreign workers, who frequently are unable to quit their employers.

According to him, Croatia needs foreign workers, and this measure will make it easier to retain them by allowing them to change their employers without having to face any difficulties.

We really had abuse, and a situation arose in which a worker cannot just leave an employer with whom he is not satisfied. He already has to return to his home country, and that is the worker we need, who is in short supply, who can transfer to another employer without any problems.
