The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) has urged the Conservative Party to remove Robert Jenrick from his role as shadow justice secretary following leaked messages showing his apparent admiration for a far-right social media account.

In a statement, the MCB called on Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch to launch an immediate investigation into Jenrick’s conduct after messages revealed him expressing support for an account known for sharing Islamophobic and far-right content on X (formerly Twitter).

In the leaked message, Jenrick described himself as a "great admirer" of the account and stated he agreed with its views on "what needs to happen." MCB Secretary General Zara Mohammed questioned how Jenrick could overlook the account’s regular Islamophobic and hateful posts, adding, "Yet he has declared himself a great admirer and aligns with its far-right views."

Mohammed criticized Jenrick’s apparent support and highlighted it as a crucial test of Badenoch’s leadership in addressing Islamophobia within the Conservative Party. She urged swift action to demonstrate a commitment to tackling such issues.

The MCB confirmed plans to file a formal complaint with Conservative Campaign Headquarters (CCHQ) regarding Jenrick's remarks. The leaked messages, published by *The London Economic*, reveal Jenrick praising the far-right account, which has over 120,000 followers, and expressing agreement with its views.

This incident adds to ongoing concerns about Islamophobia within the party and calls for stronger accountability measures.
