Natalie McDonald, 34, died alongside her seven-year-old niece Valentina Foster in a house fire in Birchington Avenue, Grangetown, near Middlesbrough, last Wednesday. The family of the mother has described her as a bright, bubbly woman who had married Anthony McDonald only nine months before her death, as a 23-year-old man appeared in court accused of the deaths.
Jaden Wright, of no fixed abode, appeared in court and was charged with two counts of murder. He is also accused of two counts of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of attempted Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent.
Cleveland Police said a man and a woman remained in hospital receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the fire.
Natalie's relatives have paid tribute to the 34-year-old, recalling her personality, her recent wedding and the central role she played in the lives of her family and neighbours.
