A murder trial at Sheffield Crown Court has heard how 35-year-old British Pakistani father Suhail Choudry suffered fifty-two catastrophic marks and injuries, including multiple skull fractures and unsurvivable brain trauma, after falling victim to a pre-planned street ambush on Flasby Street in Keighley. Prosecution barrister John Harrison KC opened the case before the Honourable Mr Justice Murray, outlining a coordinated night-time pursuit carried out shortly after three o'clock in the morning on 8 February. Emergency services discovered Mr Choudry lying deeply unconscious in a pool of blood near Cliffe Castle Park before rushing him to the neurological intensive care unit at Leeds General Infirmary, where medical efforts proved unrecoverable and he succumbed to his injuries on 11 February. Six local men from Keighley, originating from his own community, are currently standing trial in the dock, each denying all counts including murder, violent disorder, and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
Daily Dazzling Dawn understands that while six defendants face the scheduled five-week trial, West Yorkshire Police detectives have been unable to apprehend every individual implicated in the fatal enterprise. Addressing the jury, Mr Harrison revealed that at least three other suspects directly linked to the coordinated assault remain at large, having fled the United Kingdom immediately afterwards to evade criminal proceedings. Two of these outstanding individuals were formally named before the jury as Mohammed Safyaan Ishaq and Abbas Shazad. Although twenty individuals were initially arrested by police during the wider inquiry across West Yorkshire, fourteen suspects were subsequently released on bail, leaving the six primary co-defendants to face justice while international tracing procedures continue for those who escaped British borders.
Weapons Stockpiled and Pre-Planned Vehicular Ambush- The prosecution detailed that the group planned the targeted operation over the preceding days, gathering together and coordinating movements using several vehicles, including a Lexus, a Volvo, and a Ford Puma that had been stolen between 4 and 5 February and fitted with false registration plates. John Harrison KC emphasised to the court that investigators found no record of the group purchasing or sourcing weapons on the evening of the attack, demonstrating that members maintained direct access to stockpiled metal bars and bludgeons beforehand.
Closed-circuit television footage captured the Ford Puma and Lexus assembling together on Pitt Street at one o'clock in the morning, where weapons were transferred from the Lexus into the boot of the Puma. At seven minutes past three, the Lexus proceeded directly onto East Avenue, where Mr Choudry was seated with two acquaintances inside a silver Toyota Prius. Four minutes later, four men stepped out of the Lexus and moved toward the Toyota, while the Puma and Volvo entered East Avenue from Skipton Road to execute a blocking manoeuvre that cut off the victim's vehicular escape route.
Sustained Street Assault Caught on Camera- When the occupants of the boxed-in Toyota fled on foot, two companions were chased and threatened in an effort to intimidate witnesses. Mr Choudry ran down neighbouring Flasby Street, where several men pursued him while others moved to block his potential escape routes. Video footage presented to the jury captured four assailants surrounding Mr Choudry and carrying out a sustained, minute-long assault using metal bars, striking him repeatedly while he lay defenceless on the pavement.

Following the fatal assault, the assailants fled the scene in separate vehicles, discarding forensic evidence including gloves along their route, while the weapons used have never been recovered. The court heard that the stolen Puma was abandoned on Spencer Street in Keighley town centre, while the Lexus and Volvo were driven to Tim Lane between Oakworth and Haworth, where an Audi A3 arrived at thirty-five minutes past three to collect the occupants.
Community Members in the Dock Deny All Charges- All six defendants deny any participation in the collective attack. The accused include alleged organisers Rashid Hussain, forty-one, of Redcliffe Street, and Majid Hussain, forty-two, of no fixed abode; alleged getaway driver Hakeem Gulzar, twenty-eight, of Plover Street; alleged physical attackers Faisal Khan, twenty-six, and Mohammed Aliyaan Khan, twenty-three, both of Malsis Road; and alleged lookout Waseem Khan, forty, of East Avenue, who faces a single count of murder.
Speaking to Daily Dazzling Dawn, legal observers noted that the prosecution’s central premise rests on joint enterprise, asserting that each individual acted with the shared intent to locate Mr Choudry and cause him really serious harm or death. As proceedings continue at Sheffield Crown Court, jurors will examine extensive forensic evidence, telephone records, and CCTV compilations documenting the sequence of events that unfolded across Keighley.
