A new policy is about to come into force in the UK on student work permit and care visa applicants bringing children. From October 5, the new rules will require the applicant to specify who will take care of the child brought with him. Care management details of who will look after the child while the applicant is at work or at university must be mentioned in the application. If the applicant is a single parent, they have to prove that they can keep a professional carer in this country.
Md Iqbal Hossain, the lead barrister of Chancery Solicitors in London, said on Friday that previously applicants for care work permits and student visas had to add proof of age and relationship with the child in the field of bringing a child. But from September 5, in the field of bringing a child on all types of non-settled visas, a detailed plan for the care of the child must be mentioned in the application. Similar rules will apply if a child applies for a student visa. Single mothers and fathers bringing their children must prove that they have the capacity to take care of the child with a professional carer, the new policy, titled Appendix Children, says.
