The Muslim community of Canada organized a meeting in recognition of this person's extraordinary contribution to the community, the politician who is discussed in British politics, dedicated life of the community and honest courage against injustice.
Organized by the Canada Islamic Research Centre, this unique event was presided over by prominent Islamic thinker Fazlur Rahman Azhari and directed by Machumur Rahman Bappi. Dolly Begum, Canada's first Bangladeshi MPP and Gholam Jilani, one of the owners of Safa Foods and Jilani Brands, joined the ceremony as special guests.
Ohid Ahmed was honored with flowers by Dolly Begum, Canada's first parliamentarian of Bangladeshi descent.
In his speech, Ohid Ahmad urged everyone in this multi-ethnic living community of Muslims, especially the youth, to act as an example to other believers. No matter what profession they are in, expatriates are called upon to work carefully and work for the sake of justice and fairness.
In the speech of the special guest, the first Canadian Bangladeshi parliamentarian Dolly Begum praised Ohid Ahmed and said that even in this distant Toronto, Ohid Ahmed has many supporters who are an example for the next generation. This event is a vivid example of a good and righteous politician, people respect him. He told the Canadian Muslims that we need to show the beautiful aspects of Islam to other nations through our actions and behavior. He expressed the hope that Ohid Ahmad will go far in the welfare of people in the future.
Other speakers spoke about Ohid Ahmed's long-standing politics and praised his father and brothers. He served as a 5-time elected councilor, Labor Party MP candidate, paid advisory board member of the Government Labor Party Local Government Minister. Besides, he served as Tower Councillor Finance, Education, Social Sav's, Regeneration, Crime and Policing in various important Cabinets. He is the 4th son of late Alhaj Mahmud Hussain, the renowned chairman of Fulbari Union in Golapganj. Ahid Ahmed did Masters in Accountancy in the country and MBA (Masters of Business Administration) from UEL in Britain. He has been working as a financial consultant for a long time.
After the meeting, a dinner was organized in honor of Councilor Ohid Ahmed.
